The Crossroads: What should we do?

We help families during that very sensitive time when elderly parents may, or may not be at risk staying in their own home.
In some cases folks are perfectly capable of "staying put" in their own home by making some necessary changes to their environment.
Others would be better off moving to some type of senior living community.
Whatever the needs of your loved ones we can help you make the right decision.
In a situation where you feel your parents or other loved ones should consider a senior community such as an assisted living community, senior board and care or an independent living community you will want to read:

Excerpt from Chapter One
KNOW HOW TO BEGIN
This chapter will cover the actual process that
needs to be followed in order to make a complete and
accurate check of any Senior Living Community that is
being considered. Outlined below are the suggested steps.
Each area discussed will be expanded upon in subsequent
chapters. If you have received recent information that
an immediate move is necessary you will not have time
to do some of the steps listed below. If you are looking
for future placement and have the opportunity to take a
leisurely pace, more time can be spent following each step
carefully.
Helpful Hints on How to Begin the Process
1. Keep in Touch with your loved ones. Know how they
are doing. Look for any signs that they might need help.
2. Begin looking for a community before need dictates it.
3. Act at the right time. If sickness occurs it might provide
an opportunity to consider options.
4. Be honest about the need and talk to your loved one
about it.
5. If there is an immediate need for assisted living or
skilled nursing ask the physician for some references in the area.
 6. Visit communities to see what is available..........
